Overseas transactions cost more

  The HSBC said in a notice circulated among its customers that billing will be increased by another 2.5% to 7% on overseas transactions, on credit cards and debit cards. (Visa, or Master card.) The levy will be effective from the 25 August A processing fee of 5% will be levied on transactions to overseas merchants (who may be located overseas or online) billed in LKR, including Dynamic Currency Conversion transactions, effective 25 August 2021. The HSBC said it is done to reflect current exchange rate movements.
