Retirement of Governor Central Bank announced.

Professor W.D. Lakshaman will retire from his current position as the Governor, Central Bank from September 14. The new Governor Ajit Nivard Cabral will assume duties shortly. Mr Cabral, who presently serves as the State Minister of Finance, has agreed to take up the position for a second time. He was the Governor of the Central Bank during the tenure of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
