Twin baby elephants were born to cow elephant Surangi today at the Pinnawala elephant orphanage.
Both the baby elephants are males the first baby elephant was born at 4.00 am and the second one at 12.00 noon with a gap of eight hours.
This is the first time in the known history of SriLanka that twin baby elephants were born to a domiciled elephant.
