The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will grow as a massive tree over the years, though its growth is undermined by cutting it from its trunk. Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga said.
Speaking on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the party, President Kumaratunga said no one could destroy the party that has solid roots and built on the blood and sweat of several leaders,
I don’t know whether I would live to witness its growth, but it would grow with time, and I am dedicating myself to bring the party to new heights with determined young people, she said.
