Four policemen, including a sub-inspector of the Welikada Police, have been suspended in connection with the death of a female housemaid in police custody.
The police media spokesman said that the Inspector General of Police has also recommended to the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security to immediately transfer the OIC of the Welikada Police Station owing to this matter.
