A lighting of lamps in memory of the founders of the Jaffna Public Library, K. M. Chellappa and Fr. David Adigar, who died after learning that the Jaffna Public Library was torched, was held at the library premises on June 1. The 1st of June 2023 marked the 42nd year since the destruction of the region’s best library, the Jaffna Public Library.
