The Management of Lanka Phosphate Company has interdicted the purchasing manager of the company, who was assaulted by an employee alleging that the purchasing manager was involved in corruption and fraud. The purchasing manager was assaulted by an employee following a tense situation during an inspection tour of the company by State Minister Chamara Sampath. The State Minister had issued directives to the company chairperson to suspend the services of the purchasing manager concerned.
Accordingly, the purchasing manager has been informed in writing that he has been interdicted. A group of employees of the company made a revelation regarding the fraud and corruption of the company when state minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake visited the company premises on July 17.
