The National Police Commission has ordered the Inspector General of Police to maintain a visitors’ book at every police station to record the information of people who visit police stations.
The commission has made an order after paying special attention to the complaints received to the National Police Commission regarding cases of non-acceptance of public complaints by police stations.
The National Police Commission states that the decision to maintain a visitors record book is because there is nothing to actually prove that the complainant came to the police station to make a complaint during the investigation of complaints that were not accepted.
