SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara  has been removed from his substantive position by Party President and former President Maithripala Sirisena.

Deputy General Secretary Sarath Ekanayake has been appointed Acting General Secretary of the party with effect from today.
Parliamentarian Jayasekera said that he received the letter announcing his removal from the post of general secretary of the party.
