The police constable, who was hit by a luxury car driven by the IT engineer son of a former volunteer doctor attached to the police hospital yesterday evening, succumbed to his injuries at Colombo National Hospital this morning.
The PC who was on traffic duty, was seriously injured following the accident and admitted to Colombo National Hospital.
The victim, iA. Priyankara (19498), is a resident of Walasmulla. The suspect who drove the car was arrested.
The police said that the car hit the constable, rammed into the roundabout pond, and stopped.
