Police Special Task Force personnel attached to the Buttala camp on Saturday arrested a suspect along with a cache of weapons from a house in Wellawaya on the Ella Wellawaya road belonging to a former deputy speaker, JM Ananda Kumarasiri.
Wellawaya Police said that this house belongs to former Speaker J. M. Ananda Kumarasiri.
Police said that the suspect, 63, is a resident of Okkampitiya who took care of the land and the coconut land.
The suspect was remanded until October 17 after being produced before court yesterday.
