The revision application filed by former CID Director Shani Abeysekara seeking an order to enlarge him on bail was today fixed for inquiry on May 13 by the Court of Appeal.

The Attorney General was directed to file objections on or before May 7.

Senior Counsel Viran Corea appearing for Shani Abeysekara informed court that his client’s life is in danger due to recurring poor health condition.

Corea submitted to court that his client is in remand custody since July 31, 2020. He reiterated the importance of hearing this petition as early as possible due to deteriorating health condition of his client.
