The President of the Academy of Health Professionals has written to the President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association to appoint a committee to inquire into public complaints related to Health Care.
Ravi Kumudesh the President of the Academy of Health Professionals states that patient discomfort from substandard drugs and loss of life from certain clinical practices are on the rise, many of which are suppressed or ignored as routine. Therefore we have already requested to appoint an independent committee to investigate such public complaints.
The letter written by Mr. Kumudesh is self-explanatory and annexed herewith.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka
Appoint a committee to inquire about public complaints related to healthcare services in Sri Lanka
Patient discomfort from substandard drugs and loss of life from certain clinical practices are on the rise, many of which are suppressed or ignored as routine. Therefore we have already requested to appoint an independent committee to investigate such public complaints.
Simultaneously, we kindly seek your official professional support in this regard to find a solution to bring justice to the general public of Sri Lanka and to mitigate such misuses.
Also, we expect your professional support in pressurizing relevant authorities to ensure the transparency of the committee by appointing a sufficient number of members to represent the patients’/public side in addition to the subjective intellectuals/ authorities of the committee.
Thank you!
