An airline passenger who brought foreign cigarettes worth Rs. 2.1 million was arrested

A group of officers of the Katunayaka Airport police anti-narcotics department have arrested an airline passenger who illegally brought a stock of foreign-made cigarettes worth Rs. 21 lakhs and 40 thousand from Dubai to Sri Lanka yesterday morning.
The passenger, who worked as a chef in a restaurant in Dubai, is a 38-year-old resident of Nattandiya.
He had arrived at Katunayaka Airport on Fitz Air Flight 8D-823 at 05:50 am yesterday.
While 21,400 foreign-made cigarettes of the brands Manchester, Address King, and Gold Leaf were hidden in his luggage, the officers of the police anti-narcotics department found and arrested him.
