The Anuradhapura Magistrate orders that the service weapons of the two police officers attached to Udikka Premaratne be given to the government analyst.

Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate Nalaka Sanjeewa Jayasuriya ordered the CID today to refer the pistols of two police officers of parliamentarian Uddika Premaratne to the government analyst to ascertain whether a shooting has taken place using the pistols issued to them. The Chief Magistrate made this order after taking into consideration a further report submitted by the CID to the Court. The CID informed the court that a full-scale investigation is going on over the shooting incident targeting the parliamentarian. The CID informed the court that it was necessary to send the two pistols issued to the two police officers assigned to protect the MP.
