Parliamentarian Harsha De Silva’s scathing attack on the Central Bank and the subsequent announcement in Parliament that a state Bank has defaulted prompted the Central Bank to state otherwise.
The Finance Ministry and the Central Bank said the banking system is stable, and the operations of the state banks are being carried out smoothly.
