Finance minister Basil Rajapakse left for Delhi this afternoon on a two-day official visit to finalise the One Billion dollar credit facility offered by the Indian government to purchase essential food items, including medicine.
Treasury Secretary S.R Attygalle accompanied the Finance Minister.
Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa will meet with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar to discuss modalities for the disbursement of the credit facility.
They will also finalise several other agreements with India on investments and a road map to overcome the current economic crisis.
