Basil to visit India

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa is likely to visit India shortly for bilateral talks. The Minister will explore the possibility of enhancing the Indian Credit line for Sri Lanka.

The government was, in any case, trying to negotiate a loan of 500 million US $ to import necessary fuel quantities to the country. Sri Lanka incurs around US$350million monthly to import fuel.
