Former Minister Rishard Bathiudeen who is now under detention in connection with the Easter Sunday attack is likely to attend Parliament during Parliamentary sessions scheduled for next week.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywadene has agreed with a request made by the opposition during a committee meeting on Parliamentary business.

Accordingly, the office of the Speaker has communicated with the authorities concerned to bring Mr Bathiudeen to Parliament on the days’ Parliamentary proceedings are held.

Bathiudeen who is the leader of All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) has been arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
