Bishop Valance Mendis, appointed as Bishop of Kandy

His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Rt Rev, Dr Valance Mendis, as the Bishop of the Kandy Dioceses. Bishop Mendis presently is in charge of the Chilaw Diocese. Bishop Viane Fernando the Kandy Bishop has retired after passing the age of 75.
