Booster dose for frontline workers, travel restrictions to be relaxed.

The government has decided to administer Pfizer vaccines to frontline workers engaged in restricting the spread of COVID-19 as a booster dose from the 1st of November.
Because of this decision Health sector workers, armed forces and Police will receive the booster dose along with people engaged in promoting tourism in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, a decision has been taken at the Presidential Task Force Meeting on Covid 19 to relax the interprovincial travel restrictions that are in place now. Accordingly, interprovincial travel restrictions will be lifted, at 4 a.m. on October 31.
Train services too will commence from the 25th of October, since the country is gradually coming out of a crisis.
However, health authorities have warned the people to adhere to strict health guidelines to keep the pandemic at bay and to prevent the Delta + variant from spreading in Sri Lanka.
