Britain launches the Developing Countries Trading Scheme.
The British High Commissioner in Colombo, Sarah Hulton, said that the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) of the United Kingdom government came into effect yesterday.
She said that it is one of the most generous preferential trading schemes in the world, and Sri Lankan exporters can now trade with the UK tariff-free on 92% of goods.
She said that Sri Lanka would also benefit from this scheme.
