A case filed against nine Aragalaya activists, including popular actress Damitha Abeyratne, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin, and youth activist Rathindu Senaratne, alias ‘Ratta," for allegedly blocking the main entrance to the Magistrate’s Court, was today fixed for October 9 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
Meanwhile, the court directed the police to submit an investigation report regarding this incident on the next hearing date.
The Slave Island Police had filed this case against Aragalaya activists for allegedly obstructing police officers from carrying out their duty while engaging in a protest blocking the main entrance to the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on May 30 last year.
