The Ceylon Electricity Board is optimistic about a steady supply of fuel from India and the Indian Oil Company to generate power.
The CEB now is holding talks with relevant parties through the Indian High Commission in Colombo.
Meanwhile, the government expects the present foreign currency crunch to ease off in the second quarter of the year with remittances from the overseas workforce, exports and tourist influx to the country.
Currently, the government is encountering a severe foreign exchange shortage necessary to import essential items, medicine and raw material required for local industries.
