The Ministry of Power and Energy has submitted a detailed plan to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) for a revision of electricity tariffs starting July 1.
The ministry has submitted the actual power generation capacity and the consumption for the regulator to decide whether the CEB’s claims for a tariff revision are justified.
However, ministry sources said that low-income groups and low-consumption users will be borne in mind when revising electricity tariffs.
Tariffs are revised twice a year.
