A Chinese businessman engaged in business at the Colombo port city has been robbed.

  The Colombo Crime Division has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the robbery that ran into millions of rupees at the house of a Chinese businessman at Lake Drive, Colombo 8. The Chinese businessman is engaged in business activities in the Colombo port city. Police said that the robbery took place on August 19th. Police started a comprehensive investigation into the robbery following a formal complaint by the businessman to the Borella Police. The businessman said in his complaint to the police that when he and his interpreter entered his house, three masked men stayed inside and attacked him and the interpreter, put a sword to his neck, frightened him, and tied his hands. The Chinese businessman has complained to the police that the robbers have also taken away more than Rs. 238 lakh from the house. He had told the police that 11 mobile phones, seven laptops, and five bottles of foreign liquor were among the looted items.
