Civil activist Shehan Malaka released on bail

Civil activist, Shehan Malaka Gamage arrested over a statement he had made on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks during a press conference was today ordered to be released on bail after being produced before MaligakandaMagistrate's Court. The suspect was ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs.15,000 with two sureties of Rs.500,000 by Maligakanda Magistrate ThanujaJayatunga. The Criminal Investigations Department had arrested Shehan Malaka Gamage on Monday (14) under section 120 of the Penal Code for allegedly exciting or attempting to excite feelings of disaffection towards the State. President's Counsel Farman Cassim with counsel Rajitha Lakmal appeared for ShehanMalaka. President's Counsel Nevil Abeyratne appeared for Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
