Coconut oil with toxic substance removed from the market

The Consumer Affairs Authority announced that stocks of coconut oil under the brand name “N Joy” had been removed from the market.

They confirmed the presence of carcinogenic Aflatoxin in the oil.

Sources said that “N joy” oil is manufactured using locally produced Copra. Accordingly, all the other brands of Coconut oil will also be tested for toxic substances.
