Colombo Commercial High Court extends the interim order preventing the payment due to the Chinese FertilizerCompany.

The Colombo High Court today extended the restraining der preventing the payment due to a Chinese Fertilizer Company. The order will be effective until the 30thof this month. Sri Lankan authorities imported a consignment of fertiliser from the said company that failed to pass the tests carried out by the Plant Quarantine Centre. The Plant Quarantine Centre confirmed that the samples contained harmful bacteria. The Colombo Commercial High Court subsequently, on the strength of a petition, filed prevented the People's Bank from honouring the letter of Credit opened by the bank.
