The corruption case against the former District Judge is fixed for trial.

The corruption case filed against former Moratuwa and Kesbewa District Court Judge Ranjan Somasinghe was today fixed for trial to be heard on November 6 by the Colombo High Court.
This is for the unlawful acquisition of assets estimated at Rs. 2.4 million.
When the case came up before High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige, summonses were issued to the prosecution witnesses to appear in court on the next trial date.
The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had filed this indictment in the Colombo High Court against the former Moratuwa-KKesbewa District Court Judge.
In his indictment, the Director General of the Bribery Commission alleged that Somasinghe had committed the offence between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2008.
