The Agriculture and Agrarian Insurance Board says no compensation will be paid to farmers. if their crops damaged by drought are set on fire.

The Agriculture and Agrarian Insurance Board has informed Mahinda Amaraweera that if the crops damaged due to the current drought are set on fire, no compensation will be paid to them.

The board has recently started assessing the damage to the crops in drought-damaged paddy cultivation. The board pointed out that officials will not be able to assess the damage if their plantations are set on fire.
