A well-known businessman and the owner of a media institution, Dlith Jayaweera, has registered a political party. The list of office-bearers states that he is the leader of the party, while Dr. Hemakumara Nanayakkara has been named the senior leader. Lasantha Wickremesinghe is the secretary of the newly formed Mawbima Janantha Party.
