A domestic gas cylinder has exploded in a house at Hokandara in Pannipitiya early (25) causing severe damage to the house. Police sources said
The explosion reportedly took place at around 4. a.m when the residents were asleep.
No one was injured in the explosion and the police are conducting investigations.
There had been five such explosions during November, calling for a proper investigation by the authorities to ascertain the actual cause. However, there was speculation that the reason could be the composition of domestic gas, which was allegedly subject to change to minimise losses.
