An earnest appeal from the Law and Order Ministry to the general public: Do not become victims of provocative statements.
August 23, 2023

Public Security Minister Tiran Alles today requested the public not to take the law into their own hands by becoming victims of provocative and hateful statements.
The Minister has drawn attention to an irresponsible statement made by a public representative in the plantation sector last Sunday. He is of the view that such a statement will incite public anger.
This public representative had made a statement that they should counterattack for self-defence against violence and that it is their right if the government and the law do not protect them. This statement made by the public representative received wider publicity on social media.
