Parliamentarian Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said yesterday that if he ever gains power, he will educate former President Maithripala Sirisena on how to deal with issues such as the Easter Sunday attack and about law and order.He stated that former President Maithripala Sirisena appointed him as Field Marshal based on an undertaking provided to him in Parliament by the United National Party. He went on to say that it was a promise made during the presidential campaign.
Speaking at a public rally held in Welioya, Fonseka said that the country’s economy, education, health, and other sectors have collapsed, and the people are unable to have three meals a day.
Fonseka went on to say that the current government is postponing elections owing to public fear. “Similarly, the assets of the country are being sold out for a song. Half of the politicians in this country are corrupt, another 35% are aspiring elites, and the rest are the hardworking and intelligent lot.
