Four people have died and four others have been injured in a motor vehicle accident on the Anuradhapura-Padaniya road.
The deceased were all residents of Kahatagasdigiliya.
The accident occurred when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a truck parked by the roadside. They were returning after obtaining passports. Among the dead are three women.
Maulana Sindu Ahmed (driver) (46), Jainu Ahabdul Chapa (46), Saidu Ahmadu Maulana (43), and Abdul Rahman Mohammad Razim (36) have died.
Three of the injured are being treated at Tambuttegama Hospital, and one of them has been transferred to Anuradhapura Hospital for further treatment.
