NEW DELHI: Israel calls it war; and for good reasons. Never has a terrorist attack employed a combination of means that Hamas used to kill 1500 civilians, soldiers, children, old and infirm, women and the defenceless. It’s Israel’s 9/11 moment. Should Israel raise the tempo of its ground operations, a stark picture emerges. One, that may draw countries in the region into a bigger war. The US and most of Europe are already involved in the Ukrainian War, that shows no signs of abetting. Gaza has the volcanic force pressing hard to erupt, ignite and bring to battle far bigger forces. A humanitarian crisis is already unfolding. The US is trying to hold Israel back ,simultaneous with positioning a deterrent force in the region to deter possible eager parties to join battle.
