The government has decided to ban wearing of all face coverings including the Burqa.
Ministers have approved the ban during their weekly meeting according to Minister Sarath Weerasekara.
Minister Weerasekara on an earlier occasion too sought Cabinet approval to ban the Burqa, but was differed at that point due to various political reasons.
