The Health Ministry today said that measures have been taken by the health authorities to prevent the spread of meningococcal bacterial infection in the country.
Health Ministry Deputy Director General Dr. G. Wijesuriya said that this disease is not unique to Sri Lanka and only 10 infected persons have been reported so far this year.
Dr. Wijesuriya said that the reporting of several patients does not interfere with school and work activities, and people can engage in their daily activities as usual.
