High Court temporarily lifts travel ban on Gammanpila

The Colombo High Court today permitted Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila to travel abroad from January 23 to April 29.
Minister Gammanpila whose passport was impounded by Court for allegedly cheating Rs. 20 million following his alleged fraudulent share transaction, had sought Colombo High Court’s permission to temporary lift his travel ban.
Accordingly, his passport was ordered to be released by High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja. The Court was informed that Gammanpila is expecting to engage in several official and private tours during this period.
