The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar today concluded recording evidence in the case filed against former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara in respect of the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
The High Court Trial-at-Bar bench announced that decision on whether or not to release former IGP from the case will be delivered on February 18.
The order regarding calling for defence evidence will be delivered on the same day.
In a separate case, the Court had also concluded prosecution evidence against former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
The Attorney General filed indictments consisting of 855 charges against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
The two former top officials have been accused of failing to take measures to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks despite having prior knowledge of the attack.
