Horana Magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya today ordered the release of former Parlimentarian and Samagi Jana Balawegaye Horana, Chief Organiser P.D. Abeyratne, on bail with two sureties of Rs. 1 million each. Abeyratne was arrested in connection with the shooting incident on Wednesday.
In addition, the magistrate barred him from leaving the country and suspended the licence issued to his firearm temporarily through the Ministry of Defence.
