Inspector General of Police C. D. Wickramaratne has been given a three-month extension with effect from today (09) by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The extension has been granted on the recommendation of Public Security Minister Tiran Alles.
However, his extension of service is subject to the approval of the Constitutional Council.
