Import of 360,000 litres of liquid medicinal Oxygen required for Covid 19 patients.

. The government will import an additional stock of 360,000 litres of liquid medicinal Oxygen required for Covid 19 patients. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved earlier to import and store 120,000 litres of liquid Oxygen monthly to ensure an undisturbed supply of liquid medicinal Oxygen required for thetreatment of critical Covid – 19 patients. The Cabinet of Ministers however approved the importation of 360,000 litres of liquid medicinal Oxygen in addition to the monthly general requirement of 120,000 litres of liquid medicinal Oxygen so that sufficient stocks of Oxygen can be stored within the country. It has been reported that he number of Oxygen-dependent patients has increased due to the spread of the new Covid – 19 variant.
