Importers tell the government to remove controlled price of Sugar

Several large-scale sugar importers have made a request to the Finance Ministry to remove the controlled price imposed on sugar.
Importers have already written to the Finance Minister in this respect.
Sugar is sold in the market at a higher price though a control price has been imposed by the government. The current retail price of one Kg of white sugar is Rs. 135 though the gazette says the maximum price is Rs 122per Kg.
