Inadequate fuel supply reason for power outages

There will be Power interruptions throughout country owing to short supply of diesel by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to the Kelanitissa Power Station, Ceylon Electricity Board said. The said it still has 300 MW of power on the national grid following the repair of one of the third 300 MW coal power plants at Norochcholai. If CPC is unable to provide the required diesel on time, the CEB would not be able to continue the power supply officials said.
