Injured Sita to undergo X-ray examinations at the site where she was shot.

Senior professor of Peradeniya University Veterinary Department, Asoka Dangolla, says that they have decided to use the X-ray machine belonging to the Wildlife Department as there is no suitable X-ray machine in the country to take the X-rays of the internal organs of the injured female elephant, 'Sitha.
He said that the relevant X-ray machine was brought from Colombo to Mahiyangana yesterday afternoon. Prof. Dangalla said that the X-ray examination will be carried out by a senior radiologist under the supervision of two veterinarians from the University of Peradeniya. Seven bullets have penetrated the body above the heart of 'Sita', and X-rays will depict how far they have penetrated into the body.
Sita was shot by an auxiliary force officer attached to the Wildlife Department following the Mahiyanagana Raja Maha Vihara procession held recently.RELATED NEWS
