November 03, 2021

The Jaffna Magistrate’s Court today issued summons against Palmyrah Development Board Chairman Kirishantha Pathiraja on allegation of purported acts of stealing of relevant documents including the audit report from a cabinet in the office which are apparently incriminating him for alleged corruption and fraud.
Magistrate Nalini Subakaran issued summons against the accused pursuant to a complaint made by internal audit officer Nellinathan Sivarajah.
Attorney-at-Law Stanislaus Celestine appeared for the complainant.
Complainant Sivarajah has alleged that the accused had broken the cabinet which was under his custody and removed audit reports and believed to have destroyed or burned them in order to cover his unscrupulous deeds for furtherance of his intention.
Further magisterial inquiry fixed for January 5, 2022.
