An 11-year-old child and his father were killed when a jeep driven by
SLFP Pathahewaheta organizer Gamini Wijayabandara had crashed into them.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accident took place at a pedestrian crossing at the Kandy-Dharmaraja College junction on Tuesday evening at about 6 p.m.
The deceased in the accident are residents of Buwelikada in Kandy.
According to the police, the father had gone to pick up his son, who was attending the scholarship examination classes this year. Following attending a tuition class, the father and son were returning home when they faced this mishap.
