LTTE’s Daya Master gets two years RI suspended for five years.

Former LTTE spokesman Velayutham Dayanithi alias Daya Master was given a two-year suspended sentence by the Vavuniya High Court after he pleaded guilty to the charges relating to aiding and abetting the uprising of the LTTE organization.
Vavuniya High Court Judge Manikkavasagar Ilanchelian has sentenced Daya Master to two years imprisonment suspended for five-year period.
LTTE former spokesman Velayutham Dayanithi alias Daya Master surrendered to the Sri Lanka Army on April 22, 2009 at Pudumatalan in Mullaitivu during the final stages of the war. The Attorney General had filed indictments against the accused under the provisions of Prevention of Terrorism Act for aiding and abetting the terrorist activities of the LTTE during the war.
M.A. Sumanthiran PC appearing for Daya Master submitted to court that his client was pleading guilty to the charges. He also insisted the fact that his client served LTTE for a monthly payment.
